Spoken Word with Joseph Roberts – Secondary

Poet and storyteller Joseph Roberts has spent weeks in local schools running workshops that help young people find their voice — through poetry, spoken word and storytelling. The live performance at District House is where all of that work comes together, as students step up and share their own original writing with an audience for the first time. It's intimate, it's brave and it's often extraordinary. Spoken word performed by young people who've genuinely got something to say has a way of cutting through in a way that polished, professional performance rarely does. Come prepared to be moved, surprised and inspired.
